Another damn artist comes grunting out of the salt marsh.

I’m just an old guy who used to be pretty good at volleyball and who started drawing with charcoal and pastels a couple years ago. I love doing it and seem to have a knack for it. A few friends have insisted I share some of my work with the world, so here we are.

I drew a lot when I was a kid, but stopped drawing almost 50 years ago and didn’t pick up a pencil again until March 2023. Every drawing has been a learning experience, not just in terms of technique and skill, but also in self-forgiveness. So long as I’m patient with myself and pay attention to what I actually see and not what I think I see, things generally work out. There’s probably a larger life-lesson in there somewhere.

Thank you for visiting. I’m lucky and grateful to share some of this work with you.

Peace.

Tom
